Silesian Stadium is one of Poland’s major venues for sport and live events. It opened in 1956 and has hosted sporting competitions as well as concerts and cultural events. Following extensive modernisation, it became a contemporary venue with covered stands and expanded facilities.
What events take place at the stadium?
Located within Silesia Park in Chorzów, the stadium hosts football matches, athletics competitions, speedway events, concerts and other public gatherings. Its facilities include an athletics track and spaces designed for different types of events. The stadium has 54,378 seated places and can accommodate around 85,000 people during concerts.
Visiting the stadium
The venue can also be explored outside major events. Depending on the available tour, visitors may see the players’ changing rooms, walk through the tunnel leading to the pitch, visit an exhibition and access the viewpoint. Some areas may be temporarily closed because of event preparations or weather conditions.
Tickets and planning your visit
Before purchasing a ticket, check the event details, seating sections, entry requirements and available visitor facilities. For stadium tours, review the current schedule, tour length and booking options in advance. This makes it easier to plan your visit and choose an option that suits your interests.
A modern sports and cultural venue
The modernisation introduced new stands, a roof, improved lighting and sound systems, and updated facilities for athletes and spectators. The stadium also provides spaces for meetings, conferences and private functions. Today, Silesian Stadium remains an important sports and cultural venue in the region, offering both major events and guided visits.
