TWICE: Who They Are, What Makes Them Special, and How to Get Tickets
K-pop has become a global phenomenon. From PSY’s “Gangnam Style” in 2012 to BTS receiving Grammy nominations in 2021 and 2022, Korean pop music has reached audiences around the world. Girl groups such as BLACKPINK and TWICE have also built international fan bases thanks to their music, stage presence, and personalities. So, who are TWICE, are their concerts worth seeing, and how can you get tickets? Here’s what to know.
Who are TWICE?
TWICE is a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment, one of the country’s major music companies, founded by singer-songwriter J. Y. Park in 1997. Its other artists have included 2PM, GOT7, DAY6, Stray Kids, ITZY, Xdinary Heroes, and NMIXX.
The group debuted on October 20, 2015, after the reality competition show SIXTEEN, releasing “Like Ooh-Ahh” as its debut single. TWICE has nine members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. The members have continued releasing music in Korean and Japanese, and some have also contributed to songwriting. In 2022, Nayeon became the first TWICE member to release a solo project with “IM NAYEON,” featuring the hit “POP!”
K-pop groups often assign members specific roles. Jihyo is the leader and main vocalist; Nayeon and Jeongyeon are vocalists; Momo is known for dance; Sana and Mina contribute vocals and performance; Dahyun and Chaeyoung are rappers; and Tzuyu is a vocalist and dancer. Momo, Sana, and Mina are often referred to as the group’s Japanese line, while Tzuyu is from Taiwan.
What is TWICE famous for?
TWICE is sometimes called “the nation’s girl group” in South Korea. Their bright, catchy songs, memorable choreography, and playful concepts helped them stand out. Their style has matured over time, but themes of love and relationships remain a recurring part of their music.
The single “Cheer Up” was a major breakthrough in South Korea. It topped the Gaon Digital Chart and won Song of the Year at both the Melon Music Awards and the Mnet Asian Music Awards. Other popular songs include “TT,” “What Is Love?,” “Dance the Night Away,” “I Can’t Stop Me,” “Alcohol-Free,” “The Feels,” “Scientist,” and “Talk That Talk.” Their mix of catchy melodies, polished visuals, and energetic choreography has helped them build a loyal international following.
Are TWICE concerts worth it?
It depends on your musical taste, but TWICE concerts offer more than a set of songs. Shows typically combine newer releases with fan favourites, elaborate stages, coordinated outfits, choreography, and moments when the members talk with the audience. The group is especially known for catchy pop and love songs, delivered with both strong vocals and dance performances. Setlists and production vary by tour.
If you want to attend, keep an eye on official tour announcements and ticket-sale dates. Popular shows can sell out quickly, so it helps to plan ahead and check the official ticketing information before the sale begins.
What can you expect on a TWICE tour?
Tour stops and venues vary by tour. TWICE has performed in South Korea, Japan, and other parts of Asia, as well as North America and other international markets. The exact cities and countries for each tour are confirmed in the official announcement, so check the latest schedule rather than relying on older tour information.
A concert usually lasts around two hours, though the duration can vary. Ticket prices depend on the venue, seat location, and ticket category. Seats farther from the stage are often less expensive, while premium packages may include extras such as exclusive merchandise or access to a soundcheck. Benefits differ by event, so read the ticket details carefully before buying.
TWICE tickets: Where and how to buy
Buy tickets through the event’s official ticketing partner whenever possible. If you use a resale marketplace, check the seller’s reputation, the ticket-transfer rules, any name restrictions, and the final price before paying. Resale prices can be higher than the original price, and ticket-transfer policies vary by event.
TixPost is a marketplace for buying and selling tickets to music, sports, and other events. If you already have a ticket but can no longer attend, check the platform’s current listing and resale rules to see whether you can offer it for sale.
How to prepare for ticket sales
Tour and presale dates are usually announced in advance. Before sales open, create any required account, confirm your payment method, and read the event’s ticketing instructions. Use a reliable internet connection and be ready at the announced time. High demand can cause queues or temporary website delays, so follow the official seller’s guidance and avoid purchasing from suspicious links.
