Radiohead began as On A Friday, a band formed in 1985 by musicians who would go on to create one of the most distinctive lineups in alternative rock. After changing their name to Radiohead and releasing “Creep”, their career gained momentum, but the band’s real story was shaped by the constant evolution of their sound.
The Bends revealed a more mature side of the group, while OK Computer established their position and opened the door to a much more experimental direction. Kid A and Amnesiac moved Radiohead away from traditional guitar rock, bringing in electronic textures, avant-garde influences and unconventional structures. A few years later, In Rainbows became another defining moment, including through its unusual approach to releasing the album.
Throughout their career, Radiohead have consistently avoided repeating themselves. From “Creep” to A Moon Shaped Pool, their story is largely one of constant musical exploration. For many fans, that unpredictability remains an important part of the appeal of seeing the band live.
